Sitting and Thinking

September 28, 2008 at 6:23 pm (Poetry)

I sit alone thinking of the time,
The time, when I first met you,
You were quiet,
I were quieter,
You looked just like the rest,
Who was to know our friendship would grow.

Our friendship grew, Our lives united,
I became We,
And You became Us.
But times and places will change
And our love will strengthen
But if we should go astray,
Please remember that,
 “I Love You”
And whatever life throws at us,
I will always love you
“Forever, for infinity.”

There is a Place

September 28, 2008 at 6:16 pm (Poetry)

There is a place where everyone goes
To so far away. Up in to the sky.
But nobody knows where.
It’s like a moving island that
No-one knows is there.

There is another place people go
To so far away. Below the ground.
But nobody knows where.
It’s like a moving island that
No-one knows is there.

(St Matthews 3rd year).

I wrote this in 1991, whilst I was high school

Be Not Afflicted

September 28, 2008 at 5:55 pm (Poetry)

In heaven,
I think of you,
I love you
and, as in life,
I am still with you.

What is a Friend?

September 28, 2008 at 5:44 pm (Poetry)

A friend is a bit of heaven lent to us to make the earth a better place to live.
A friend is a mirror which reflects a true picture of ourselves, unclouded and untouched, a window through which we see the world as it is, both the good and the bad of it.
A friend has all the beauty of the most beautiful roses, yet when uncared for and neglected, slowly fades; all the strength of a towering tree, but in need also of nourishment in order to grow; all the movement of an ocean, feeding rivers and receiving the living water that pours from them.
A friend can be like a forgotten path in the woods, stumbled upon quite by accident, then followed to the most beautiful place in the world.
A friend may have the wisdom of the ages, the patience of Job, the courage of David, the leadershipof Moses, yet be human like us, just as sensitive.
A friend may share our troubles, understand something of our needs, realise our faults but forgive and overlook them, and then love us in spite of it all.

Poetry

September 28, 2008 at 5:05 pm (Poetry)

This section will contain poetry that I like and poetry that I have written. Some of you may like it, some of you won’t, but I like it and I think that is all that counts.

I do not want your pitty, your understanding or your sympathy. They are a moment in time, when I felt really happy, a little upset and a little lost.

Please feel free to leave a comment, in fact I think I would like you to leave a comment, then I’d know that someone out there was reading what I wrote.

Thank you…
